I may be doing another cleanout of the users again soon. The users that will be deleted would be all users who have never verfied their accounts, and all users who are verified but have never once logged in.

On average about 20 active users. I'd say an active user is anyone with 25+ or ever 50+ posts. I know many of the users that do have 50+ are Hiatus but there is still probably 20 or so that come in and keep "active".

Its good to delete those non-active users,
They are a waste of time.

Well, only processing time :D

It's more the waste of space in the database too I think (with all the unread posts flags, etc.)

it might be nice to do a HUGE system clean out some time, where ou send a mass email to everyone saying you have 2 weeks (or whatever) to go sign in or account is deleted

I just wanted to announce that today we have deleted about 650 users from the board that were registered. Out of these 650 about 410 had never activated their accounts. The other remaining users had activated their accounts, but they had never once logged in after activating. This should free up some usernames and should also make so Ozzu's user's count is more realistic. This should also improve the performance of the board slightly.

If you are one of these users that were deleted (which means you wouldn't be able to login to Ozzu), you will need to register for a new account.

Wow. 650 eh? That must have been some event. And a bit fun too.

I know this reply is waaaaaaaay after the fact. But man, thats some fact.

Actually, I'll bet it's a pretty good reminder for Bigwebmaster. I'm guessing another housesweeping wouldn't hurt.. It's been awhile.

Nah I do it all the time now, usually once a week. I just never mention anything anymore. Usually I delete about 100 members a week.
