Main Ozzu Server currently down

Our ozzu server in the H1 datacenter on the first floor is currently offline. The first floor just lost power again and they are working to restore power there. In the meantime DNS has been switched to load from our backup server, although I have locked all forums so that posts do not get made here.

It sounds like this could be a short downtime period, but I will keep you updated.

I have decided to keep ozzu over on the backup server and it will remain there until further notice to avoid any further disruptions. I have re-opened all of the forums.

If anybody finds any new bugs related to the move to this other server please let me know. I ran through everything really quick and I believe everything is up to date and working.

what a nightmare i had a server on the second floor and went down for 36 hours, I thought that all the problems were fixed now though

Well my piddly little server problems are nothing compared to ozzu problems. We had a ton of rain a few days ago, and our building that we use as our central point for our metropolitan wireless network is known to be leaky. So the following morning I went to check on our gear including all the AUs for our radios, a dns server, a domain controller, a router, and two firewalls. The ceiling was sagging pretty bad and the floor was all soggy, so I wrapped the rack up in plastic sheets and duct tape. Hopefully I left enough ventilation to keep it from getting overheated.

what is the use of Ozzu Server?

Well, without the server the website would not be on the internet ... the server is the computer that distributes the website to your computer when you type in http://www.ozzu.com into your browser. (a very simple explanation)

Bigwebmaster is roughly 3.4 inches tall and lives in the server. When it goes down, he has to stand out in the rain until it's fixed.

Is Ozzu still running on a secondary server? If it is are you planning to leave it at its current location?

Yeah Ozzu is still running on the new server and will stay there. The other server is being decommissioned, I do not want ozzu back in that other datacenter that had that explosion.
