Just wanted to announce that a new server is being purchased and in the next few days we will be transitioning to it.

This server will have a faster processor, twice as much ram (from 2GB to 4GB), and slightly more hard drive space (using SAS too). Also it will come with RHEL5 vs RHEL4 that we are currently using.

Its not that Ozzu really needs it, but should help make things even better.

Oh and also I made the choice to go with 64 bit vs 32 bit.

My 64bit server works way more efficiently than the 32bit one and outside of one is running Windows Server 2003 Small Business Suite and the 64bit is running Enterprise, the hardware is nearly identical

The main reason I was hesistant on the 64 bit was if all the software I used was compatible with that. I believe everything for the most part will be so should be no problem.

I think at this point 64 bit software compatability has improved tremendously. So far I haven't found a software except one that wasn't compatible with 64bit and ironically enough it was a very expensive Microsoft program lol

I am about to begin the process of moving ozzu to the new server. The old server will have every forum locked and the new server will be open for posts. Sometime within the next 24 hours the new server may have up to about 1 hour of downtime as RAM is going to be replaced. At that time the DNS will switch back to point to the old server (with the locked forums) until the new server comes back again. So overall things should stay up for the most part, but there will be a few bumps. The longest downtime anybody should see is about 5-10 minutes as I have the DNS set to cache at 300 seconds.
