What are points? If I posted top level posts as much as I did replies to posts I'd be like 10 grand or better by now. Oh, well...so much for top level posts....

I'm just here to help. So again I ask...what are points?

Do we get a notification of someone (I guess a mod) awards us bonus points? Since I've never done anything but reply to posts and I haven't been notified of a donation, I'm just curious how my posts/participation ratio isn't 1:1... not that's I'm complaining =]

there is a mod for vBulletin to steal points, but it's a gamble based on your own. So if you have less points, the liklihood of you actually succeeding is lower than if you have as many as the person you are stealing from. Make sense? Anyway, i don't know if there's a phpBB version or not, but it is definitely out there.

That's why I asked, because I never got any sort of notification. I've gotten notifications for other things, but never anything to do with participation point changes. It's not a big deal, I guess. I'm just O/C that way sometimes.

I think I may have figured out. I posted to a topic yesterday that was nothing but a silly advertisment (saying as much). It looks like that post was subsequently deleted, which probably dropped my post count, but not the participation.

Makes sense... I get all weirded out when stupid stuff like that doesn't add up =]

What are all the ways you can get points? I thought you can only get it by referring others? I didnt' know you can get points for posting in the forums. Thanks.

As of today, Bigwebmaster removed participation points when he implemented the most current upgrade. Since this is no longer relevent, I've locked the topic.
