I'm trying to burn DMG files onto DVD-R
Created a burn folder, placed the file I want in there, etc.
I was able to burn one
I'm trying to do more, but whenever I do the same thing it prompts me to insert a blank disc.

I am inserting a blank disc.
I tried another
It still won't go.

Any idea why?

Quit disk utiliy, and then restart it. Same thing happened to me. Just restart the application, and you should be fine.

yeah that is a pain with osx, though very few of them. I like to use Toast for burning. See if you can swing a copy of it, it's worth it.

I agree. I use toast for the majority of my burning.

(old thread, but oh well)

A DMG is actually just an image. It can be compared to an ISO file. If you go into the disk utility on your mac and stick an audio cd or something into the drive, then hit the button that says something about creating an image (I don't have my mac with me right now) it will create a DMG file of the disk in the drive. Then you can mount that DMG or you can burn the image to another cd and it will be an exact bit for bit copy of the origonal.

I encounter the same issue when I am burning dual layer DVD's. It is working perfect with single layers but it is asking for a blank DVD when is DL. I switched between different brands of DVD but always I have the same issue.
I am using Toast.
