How to unlock a frozen ipod

I've been having some troubles with my ipod freezing up on me randomly, and for a while I had just been letting it sit until the battery died then I'd charge it up and everything was just fine. I found this write up on the Apple site though which makes life a lot easier for unlocking a frozen ipod.
