need advice starting with Xcode

I just got my first Mac and one of the first things i wanted to check out was xCode SDK, now i see that it is a little jump from my level but no harm in taking a look. As i am sure there is a few IOS developers here and so just wondering if i could obtain some advice on some simple projects to start on to get a better feel for it. Any good resource links would be much appreciated.
