40k backlinks on MSN?

Can some one please tell me how I got 37,869 back links on MSN, but I still only have 2 on Google?? Go to: http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop and look up our site: http://www.redcellpaintball.com ... I am very confused, am I over looking something or do we really have that many backlinks? Is this a good thing?

For a start Google never shows an accurate number of backlinks anyway so that number can't be trusted.

As for MSN, I performed a search to find out how many sites link to your site http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=li ... &FORM=QBRE
and it did indeed show 37,869. This is an inaccuracy on MSN's part though because if you browse past the first page on results that number is reduced to 19.

LOL, figures! Im thinkin your wrong, I think we do indeed have 37K backlinks!

Now I'm confused.

A little odd considering your 5th result at MSN from the top is:

And the only link you have to your site is in the www graphic, whereas I have had my link for a long time in the www here at OZZU with over 9500 posts and yet, I only show about 743 some odd backlinks total at MSN.

Well, I see a portion of the difference. Bigweb has the profile page nixed in his robots.txt file. That would prevent a lot of indexing by bots here. My best guess is that they ignore much of the repetitive links in the forums per se, but if you are a member at multiple forums, you might be getting multiple (unnatural) backlinks from the profile page if they do not have it dissallowed in the robots file.

I think the inflated backlink count from MSN is due to the session variable in your urls...msn will soon learn as Yahoo and Google did that dynamic urls can cause the bots to get stuck in a loop and return unexpected results....tis would appear to be the case since yahoo shows only 147 backlinks and 90% of those come from your own pages....just a thought

Thats a good question.. i have to get back on that i never heard of that many links from msn but not having not even 5 on google HMMMM..
