Was it just me? I thought MSN was planning a rollout on the new search engine for the superbowl from what I kept reading. Did I miss it or was it subliminal?

I assume that you mean search.msn.com which is not a beta version anymore.

This implied there would be superbowl TV ads, unless I'm totally blind:

If I recall correctly - I remember seeing about a 10 second bumper on the new MSN search. Something along the lines of... "..Now, a new faster, smarter and.... way to search.... "

The commercial was a motion graphic piece displaying the search bar on a white background with the MSN logo.

I hope I've jogged your memory if that at all sounded familiar, if not, I'm sure it won't be long before you do see that, or another commercial on it.

If there was some hype I missed it too, an I was specifically looking for it!

Was the ad pre-game? I didn't see the commercial after the kick off.

Oh, they were ever so subtle. If you watched, during the commentary they would say things (the announcers) like "We spoke to Joe Blow about his X injury" and then at the same time (on the bottom of the screen amidst the super bowl logo) a scrolling marquee would say something like "More on Joe Blow's X Injury - MSN's new search: Joe Blow." I thought that I had missed it too, but these marquee messages kept showing up, so I think that was what MSN's big advertising budget was spent on. Pretty worthless, unless you really wanted to know more.

I've seen similar advertising on on shows like "The Apprentice" and I have actually bitten on the ad and searched the web while I was watching the show. :)

I didn't see any MSN commercials, but I didn't start watching the game until the mid point of the 2nd quarter.
