I've been trying hard to rank well for a particular keyword in msn and I noticed msn favors blogspot too much. Is there anyway to compete with this blogspot sites?

Yep, MSN loves blogs. Not as much as they use to, but you will still see a lot of blog spam. Problem is the MSN favors keyword rich URL's, and you can get some good ones through blogspot.

Just continue to do good seo and you will overcome them. MSN will continue to devalue blogs over time.

MSN loves blog specially Blogspot ones. To beat other Blogspot blogs you can either create one or try to do better with your current website by using keywords in url, updating your content regularly (MSN loves that), writting an original copy etc....

I actually didn't know MSN likes blogs. It's very simple competing with the current listings;

a. Get backlinks
b. Get good keywords
d. Get good content
e. Get META tags

I may presume you already have meta tags but when I added META tags to my web page and when Google and MSN indexed my website they used the META tag description I added to my sites pages. And most people say Google and other popular search engines don't use them well they certainly do still use META tags. In addition, getting good keywords for your website regardless if your site is new could help you later on because Google will index your site according to your sites' keywords.

If MSN loves blogspot then Google loves wordpress. What about Yahoo?
