MSN problem quite bizzare

They want 16.99...and yes it was there and i went back to last week when all this started...when the restore was over MSN kicked in saying to install...so i did and it asked me to pay again...so tried your link again and its asking me to pay....and ive just found out its to do with IE version 7....it isnt compatible with msn explorer anymore....i have no clue what to do now

If you did the restore and MSN was there, you don't need the install. Just open it and see if it works.

ok its sorted....my partner removed the IE7 update and went back to IE6 and its working fine now...ty for all your help....much appriciated

I'm glad it's fixed. If I had known that MS wanted to charge, I never would have recommended a reinstall.

just because you clicked add/remove programs and removed the program doesnt mean you dont have it. Programs like that keep their .dll files and registry keys and often your information incase you re-install it in the future.

If the net says there are conflicts, and you are having a conflict, then obviously this is the problem. do a better job of removing google desktop.

Registry Mechanic
Find the files manually and delete them

Check the net for some decent uninstall software.
