OMG...I was checking out my webstats and I found a link from an msn search done 2 days ago (3.01.05). The search was for Larissa. Nothing else. Funny thing is, my blog that it listed as #4 out of over 2 million has never even contained that name!

Check it out:
Search:
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?FORM ... &q=Larissa
URL:
http://www.truceco.com

Any ideas on what happened? Is this just a bug in the new search...or did MSN rank me high because it is a popular blog and the other top results contained the word blog? If so, I guess MSN is trying something new by weighting results with keywords common in other results....weird.

I would check the actual log file and see if the search was for the single term "Larissa"...chances are that it was a multi word search and you rank well for the other words....sometimes the awstats type logs parse the keywords out and don't really show you the full exact search terms.

Yes, I am seeing the same thing for a few of my sites. Actually a very large site of mine was coming up #2 for a specific sexual term in MSN, which was bringing in a large amount of traffic...of course this term had nothing to do with this site and was listed no where on the site. I also saw this same thing with AOL.com on MSN.
