Our site start to rank on MSN and YAHOO at the most related 4 competitive keywords however 3-5 daily visitor  from them.
If those were appearing on Google then we must recieve 3-5k daily.
Do people not using MSN and YAHOO for searching something?
Does anyone have any clue about how many searchs being daily at the YAHOO, MSN and GOOGLE.

wouldn't be "cheap web hosting plans" would it?

rank well for "cheap web hosting" and you'll get traffic from ANY engine.... you might not make money from the cheap clients you attract, but you WILL get traffic.

I was just reading an article the other day and the author made a comment on how "MSN was useless" ...I was thinking "no it isn't" I get traffic from their all the time...than I looked at my logs for past month and had just over 1000 referrals from google, 800+ from yahoo and 56 from msn.

Conclusion "MSN is worthless"

340 0.60% http://www.google.com/search
226 0.40% http://search.msn.com/results.aspx
57 0.10% http://www.google.co.uk/search
52 0.09% http://64.233.161.104/search
31 0.05% http://search.yahoo.com/search
31 0.05% http://www.google.ca/search
23 0.04% http://64.233.183.104/search
21 0.04% http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx
21 0.04% http://cc.msnscache.com/cache.aspx
20 0.04% http://64.233.179.104/search
17 0.03% http://www.google.com.my/search

Google is seriously dominant, but both yahoo! and MSN need some consideration...

another site:

904 0.51% http://www.google.com/search
310 0.17% http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search
300 0.17% http://search.yahoo.com/search
159 0.09% http://www.google.co.uk/search
132 0.07% http://66.102.7.104/search
129 0.07% http://64.233.187.104/search
105 0.06% http://www.google.co.in/search
99 0.06% http://www.google.ca/search
94 0.05% http://search.msn.com/results.aspx
63 0.04% http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/search
61 0.03% http://www.google.com.au/search
49 0.03% http://sea.search.msn.co.uk/spresults.aspx
48 0.03% http://shopping.yahoo.com/search
37 0.02% http://66.102.9.104/search
31 0.02% http://aolsearch.aol.co.uk/web

Same thing here - google dominant, MSN needs consideration again though... perhaps MSN isn't "useless", but since MSN's new engine came out, these MSN figures appear to be climbing - at least on the sites I view stats for on a regular basis...

it varies for indsutry, habits, whatever keywords you are ranked for.

msn produces low traffic for certain keywords, i reckon. my site was ranked #3 in msn for "make a web site" previously and it produced less than 10 hits a month.

other less competitive keywords for my other site are doing more hits per month than this

I know the figures are high - my experience on hosting searches are people are looking for very inexpensive - the traffic to conversion ratio is PATHETIC on hosting when you go after "cheap" as a keyword... people shop, and shop and shop... all to save $1 a month.... they also have no loyalty, and move for $0.05 less next time they renew... I personally think all the effort put into gaining this kind of traffic is a lot of effort to gain almost no loyalty... not a good business decision, but that's *MY* evaluation of that method of attracting business... as usual, ymmv...

Most keyword searches you've seen or you've chosen using a particular tool was done a month ago or not that accurate. What you need to do is be an average surfer and try to think what an average surfer might come into his mind to find a particular product, item or subject. Then try to target that keyword and see the difference after getting a good rank for those keywords.

Yea most of our traffic comes from Yahoo! and Google. MSN we still get some traffic but no where near the others. They deffinitely need to spice up their search engine. Once they release their PPC program hopefully things will pick up.
