This is the first Digital Art Competition that this website has had in nearly 3 years. It's long overdue, don't you think?

The next topic is: "2012". Be creative! What does 2012 mean to you? whether it is the year or the collection of numbers, what do you think of when you see that number?

Rules: This is strictly a digital art contest! Only one submission per user will be allowed.

You MUST have made the image yourself.

Max size dimension: 640px (including border)
Max file size: 150kb
File name: Please name your entry the same as your username (or as close to as possible)
(Please ensure your entry meets the above before entering your image, otherwise you will be automatically disqualified!)

Length: Competition closes Friday March 23rd, 2012.

Voting lasts five days after close of competition.

Good Luck!

I will get the ball rolling...

I should add, this is the first time i have played about with Photoshop in absolutely ages. I will likely change this or amend it at a later date.

I think this could be an interesting competition. 2012 is wide open for interpretation. Especially when considering that 12212012 is touted as the next "doomsday". I'm sitting here trying to remember how many doomsday's I've gone through in my lifetime already.

Just a reminder that this competition closes 2 weeks today. Hopefully we are just experiencing a slow start and there will be a few more entries before competition closing date.

2012 pixel bar.

It was the only dimension of an object that I could make that contained exactly 2012 pixels, that fit the dimensions of the competition.

That's exactly why i like these competitions. It is really open to interpretation on what you would do for 2012.

Not that i doubted you, but i had to check to see you'd done 2012 pixels

Yup confirmed, 503 x 4 = 2012 pixels. Looks like Mark can do his math :)

You'd certainly hope so being that he's... well, at a more advanced age than us...

Hate to burst everybody's bubble, but Julius Caesar started the leap year in 45 BC, which means there has been roughly 514 leap years since it was added. The Mayan calendar doesn't account for the leap years, which means by their calendar the world ended over 7 months ago.

Also, I'll be entering this one if I've got enough time, sounds like it'll be a fun one.
