Yeah, the animation is very short because I tend to think long animations that loops can be too annoying.

You might have to view the banner in its full size as linked here.

Alright, so I finally gave in and made one:

Took me about 2 minutes in Fireworks... Don't ask me how long it would take me in Photoshop. :scratchhead:

Flash compiler is very good at making small file sizes.

yeah this one is gonna be a toughie. i thought of making more but if there are 50 entries you're likely to end up with 6 tied winners of 3 votes each.... then again maybe we all get surprised.

Here is my second submission called "artcoder comp2" ...

Image

Full image here.

Background: DreamsTime.com #4764405

Banner is an animated GIF with a subtle button glow effect. Human faces tends to attract viewers attention. The orange and blue are good complementary colors that go well together. Slight drop shadow to give the text a little "pop".

Thanks. Here is my third and final entry: "artcoder comp3"

Image

Link to fullsize image

It uses Dreamstime stock image #2426729 and the Baveuse font.

Stock images are good for backgrounds, but they are also good for selecting color schemes. The dark brown text over the light brown background goes very well together. This is known as an "analogous color scheme" and the two colors had been sampled from the stock image.

The white outline on the text with subtle drop shadows give the letters better definition and make them stand out from the grunge circles. The grunge circles were a bit too strong in the stock image, so I had to decrease its opacity to 40%. I also had to move the circles around to make appropriate room for the text.
You can see the original stock image here.

I didn't animate this one this time, but certainly can do so if bigwebmaster wants it.

Heyy,

Wow, it's been a while since I was last on, sorry, but I hope to change that now, since school's over. :P

Uhm, I'm not too sure how to attach my banners, lol, help me?

If it's under the "Additional Posting Preferences", for some reason I can't click 'Option' (although it shows up as a link)...I'm using FF3. :S

Thanks, and sorry for my stupidity 8)

Under advanced reply, just click the Img button and then put a link to your image between the "img" tags
