Photo Manipulation Competition #1: Real or Imagined

COMPETITION: Photo Manipulation.

OBJECTIVE: Convert a photograph into an image that appears to be a model, a painting or a drawing. Example: http://www.myirmo.com/cleanMe/model_technique1.jpg

RULES: You must have the legal right to use all materials!

Images posted as entries must be equal to, or less than, 640px wide (including border) and no larger than 150kb.

Your entry must include a complete copy of the original images and the version(s) you manipulated. Also, provide a link to your source if it's not your photo

LENGTH: Competition closes Tuesday March 25, 2008. Voting lasts three days after close of competition.

I've tried and tried, I can't for the life of me figure out how you guys are getting that model look.

It looks like the outter edges get blurred, then some enriching of the centerpiece colors with some contrast & somthing to take the finer details out of the larger sections.

That's not how I did mine, but I was going after the same visual cues.

[sidenote]I must say I think it would've been cool if we could've shown the two images seperately, because 320px as a maximum is really small ... [/sidenote]
