The inverted lens technique takes a bit of practice - the only way to focus is by moving farther/closer to your subject. It's quite nice though - it has severely limited field of depth.

I used the inverted lens trick for mine. I've heard of it before, but never tried it until SB mentioned it.

I think I should have spent some more time on mine after having seen the other entries. :(

Without a background to help bring it into scale, the effect is somewhat lost. Here's a great example from a friend of mine:

That reminds me of those episodes of CSI where the girl made the models of all the crime scenes.

That reminds me of that cool photo-editing trick we had a comp on to make a real photo look like a miniature model.

I assume you guys are talking about "Tilt-Shift" Photography. Here's a pretty cool example but using video.
