So a macro contest means basically to get up close and personal with something and take a picture right?

Oh, by the way as a FYI for those who have DSLR cameras and not a Macro lens. You can take macro shots without a macro lens by simply removing a lens and rotating the lens the opposite way around so the part you connect to the camera is facing outwards and the glass lens is being held right to the camera body.

In order to focus you simply move closer or go further back from the object.

Worth giving it a shot if you feel you cannot take any Macro photographs for this comp due to lack of equipment.

Anyone have access to a microscope ?
That could make for some really cool photos too.

I'm looking for a magnifying glass or some other way to jerry rig my camera because my point-n-shoot cameras "macro" mode is pretty sad compared to what I've seen so far. :D
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

Ok, I'm in......... first when I saw the subject I thought no point, all my macros are boring flowers... I mean beautiful, but not exciting enough for a comp..... then I remembered these winter seeds - I always really liked this shot :D Great entries this far - hope there are more to come!!!

You guys are brilliant, I would have never ever in a million years gotten the idea of holding a second lens in front of my camera or flipping the lens around backwards.
