Your a bit unlucky then Suzie. I managed to not only get incredibly close to two ducks while walking in Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens a year ago and managed to change my lens from the Film SLR to my Digital SLR and they didn't flinch. Got some good close up shots.

I had a few snapshots that captured the moment a bit better, but technically speaking I figured as this was a "photography" competition that this was technically superior.

They are camels, big ones, I have to say. They have them along with some other wild animals in a big park near my town.

They took us on a "wild tour" and gave us some cups with food (the red thing my wife has in her hand), so we can feed them, but they are so hungry that they almost rip the cup of your hand. She was so scared that she threw the cup on the poor camel's face *lol

Those camels really do look big. Just their head is about half the size of your wife. I don't blame her for standing up scared, they were probably going to have her for dinner after whatever was in that red cup

Oh I love gardening I live and breathe gardening - its my life,

My money goes on new plants or new pots to show off the new plants...did I tell you I love gardening?

I was trying to find the very old Marigold Calendula. It a daisy type and brilliant orange.

I have a pic somewhere.

Here is the link because Ozzu states the size limit which is fine:

Oh its not mine wfcamb

I think I mentioned on my site the image is from Wikipedia. Its where most of my Wordpress images come from. I have donated and will do again soon.

I am growing some of my own Marigolds but they won't be ready till summer.

I should (fingers crossed) get an image some bit like that from Wikipedia from *my garden later this summer, they too are orange.

Thanks for your comment wfcamb"

jflynn you tie your own flies? Sweetness, I tried that a few years ago but didn't quite get the hang of it and lately I've been thinking about dusting off my little tool kit and giving it a go again. One fly that I did tie is a super easy one. Just get yourself a small-to-medium sized dry fly hook and a small beige colored rubber band and some olive colored thread, cut the rubber band to make it no longer a circle, and tie it onto the hook all lumpy, and voila! you've got a little grub. It works pretty well on pan fish and small stuff like that.

kc0tma,

that's an interesting idea, that fly I have on the Flikr site was from just screwing around.... I actually tie better flies then that. Nothing special though.
Example of a "go to" fly that I tie lots of.
