Photography Competition #41: Shadows

Howdy!

The next topic is : Shadows. Be creative!.

Rules: This is strictly a photography contest! No photo chopping, but contrast, brightness, levels and other minor touch-ups (healing tool will be allowed for film and print scans). Please avoid any text on the photograph, except at most a copyright statement, remember distractions like text can take away from the composition. Digital and film photography are both allowed. Only one submission per user will be allowed.

You MUST have taken the image yourself.

Max size dimension: 640px (including border)
Max file size: 150kb
File name: Please name your entry the same as your user name (or as close to as possible if your user name has characters that are not allowed in file names)
(Please ensure your entry meets the above before entering your image)

Length: Competition closes Wednesday July 30, 2008

No brainer. I had just taken this shot of my garden last evening.

Very cool idea ATNO. Very lush greens and interesting shapes to the shadows, leaving marks of light where needed.

I dig this theme. Should be a fun one!

Hmm. I have a neat photo I took a while ago that would fit...but I'm not sure if it's contest material.

In what way would it not be contest material?

I'm just not sure it's the caliber that some of the photos that get posted to these contests boast.

I actually have a totally freaking awesome excellent idea, but I can't submit it because 1.) I didn't take the picture myself, and 2.) I don't have the proper equipment to take the picture myself. The horse head shape in the picture linked here is actually a shadow, believe it or not.

I'll figure something out for a real entry.

And actually, this would probably be a better entry in a digital art comp because of having to use filters and stack a bunch of images and stuff.
