Hello everyone!

This months subject: Textures

Rules: This is strictly a photography contest! No photochopping, but contrast, brightness, levels and other minor touch-ups (healing tool will be allowed for film and print scans). Please avoid any text on the photograph, except at most a copyright statement, remember distractions like text can take away from the composition. Digital and film photography are both allowed. Only one submission per user will be allowed. Your entry needs to have an interesting texture of some sort in it.

Awards: 500 Points to the winner, and choice of next weeks competition topic. 100 points for the runner up (only will apply when competition reaches 5 submissions).

Length: Competition closes Monday, May 31st at 10:00 PM EST. Voting lasts five days after close of competition.

The winner needs to PM me the topic for the next competition (please try to think up topics while voting goes on, incase you win).

*lol -- good luck folks. I do believe Axe has set the standard for this competition! I need to get my hands on a nice hi res cam at work and see what I can come up with, but that definitely depicts the thought of this comp. Nice job AXE. (I was afraid you were going to post one of your reptiles. Hard to find better textures than that).

Btw, for a size reference, that image is about a nickel-sized (a bit smaller than a 10p coin for those in the UK) piece of her side :)

She's just a young one :)

Well, I didn't have much of a choice.. I don't have 500 bucks spare to get a macro speedlight to go around the end of the lens, so I was having to use built-in + the SB-50DX in bounce mode.... And in order to do that, they both need to be in manual mode. But, stopped at f/22, most of the brightness didn't show up.

How it turned out, on a properly calibrated monitor, is pretty much looks the way she does :)
