gsv2com how about designing a template small than 10k.

THIS WILL GIVE rtm223 A CHANCE :P

 ouch! Although if you mean 10k for code then sounds ok to me :P

Lol, but seriously though, maybe some webmastery-type comps, but mostly just something more accessible to everyone. Even a coding competition would tend to favour certain people.

I think B_heyer (might be wrong) suggested a basic tags only comp - that would have been a great example because most of the members can have a go, and no-one <i>really</i> has a specific advantage....

I'm not looking for a competition that I can win, just a competition where no single member, or group of members is favoured.

So I recon a web template with a criteria that anyone can do:

1) Code no greater than 8k

2) Images no greater than 10k (yeah not easy is it but then you don’t have to be too talented in arts but have a good eye for design!)

3) Topic: Erm Ozzu chooses from children’s, youth, networks or any other chosen

Sounds good, but super-efficiency still falls under certain people's specialities lol.

the one I was thinking of was something like just using newbie tags:

p, center, font - you get the idea. No CSS, No JS, limited html attributes. It doesn't favour anyone, because very few of us ever try to do something like that. It's totally useless, but thats what makes it open to everyone. We all have the skills to participate (other than the wysiwyg whores, but stuff them - if they can't be bothered to learn the basic basic tags then it's their own fault they get left out  ).

IMHO it would be more interesting to see what people can come up with given limited resources, and dumped in an alien situation, rather than see what people can do given unlimited resourses, doing what they do all the time.....

Uh, double post with syntax errors in the quote. Bad morning... Mods, please delete one and this one. Why the heck isn't there an edit option in this section?!

A while back I remember y'all did a lil competition on "textures". I propose a competition on "emotions". I myself do not create digital art. But, I love coming here and looking how incredibly talented a lot of you are!

Maybe Axe or someone could pick up this thread and give out the particulars for a competition.

Just a suggestion.

How about a photomanipulation contest? I'd be all for it and anyone could participate.

Sound good?

How about a photomanipulation contest using ImageMagick. :) No photoshop. Whoever creates the most useful application wins.

But what is there to win anymore? The points system has been done away with.
