basically open a blank photoshop document and create any kind of tweaked out image you want without using any other pictures or any other programs

Hey guys i was wondering if we could add a sig competition to this forum i know there are many people who use photoshop and fireworks and i think it would be fun to put their skills to the test

they had it at another forum and this is how it worked

Topic: ex: olympics
size: ex: 350 pixels by 120 pixels
starting date: ex: 2/8/05
ending date: ex: 2/16/05
Format: Ex: Gif, swf, whatever or creators preference

and it would go something like that

the moderators or the site admin would post and topic and the moderators and admin cannot enter

and the moderators and admin decide who wins the competition

and whoever wins the competition the admins or moderators would put Winner of Week 1 or 2/8/05 sig competition and if they win more than once ud be like Winner of Week 1,2,5,7 sig competition

We prefer competition requests be made her skirge. I removed your poll, because when I merged this it ended up showing on all pages, and no longer made any sense. People can voice their opinions on it here.

Skirge you have made a really good contribution to the ideas pool! I really like this one. It wouldn't be possible to run it so often, but it would be fun to have an assortment of types of competitions to cater for everyones tastes and talents.

A web site comp is in the pipeline, it wont be anything too fancy, particular pics and rules on design so it can be created originally.

Once the Create-A-Composition competition is over (what a mouthful!) I will run the sig competition while the next Photography one is being held, then it keeps things a bit different. As usual the winner's entry will be placed in the main winners topic and they are free to use their entries in their own signatures.

Not sure about excluding mods from the comp - while some moderators have exceptional graphic skills, others do not, there are also forum members who are professional designers, it's no big deal - after all it is all about trying it out and getting better at your skills, if you happen to win well that's cool too :D

Cheers,
Rose

For the record, skirge, Moderators don't have any contol over the vote. We vote the same way you do nor do we see the results of the voting before you do, and i can pretty much vouch for the integrity of the mods that they will vote for the best entry regardless of the competition, and regardless of the entries. I for one have not voted for myself in any competition I have attempted to enter.

anyone could can vote for themselves, there is no rules against it, however it is better for everyone if you either don't vote or vote for another entry you think is really good.

I wouldn't be too concerned, mods have better things to do than cheat to win a competition and I'd reckon ozzu members are the same too :D

PS: for the record all votes are judged by polls and not by moderators ;)

Can we get another compilation contest? Either that, or maybe the sig one you were discussing? Just joined the forums and would be interested in something like this.

 How about an ScreenSaver competition, you can create an screensaver using any tool that can help you. Any kind of image is allowed. The screenSaver has to be ozzu related. you can add music, but however is not required. As you can also add photos, animations etc.
