With the competition section, i don't think it was originally intended to just be Digital and Photography. So, to add more than one photography competition at a time would unfairly define what the competition forum is for.

Being completely honest, i still think alternating the photography and digital art competitions each month and adding another couple of types to substitute one of them isn't a bad idea. So we'd have Photography and CSS one month and the next it would be Digital Art and Flash for example. Then we'd go back to Photography and CSS if that one was popular etc etc. Depending on the interest levels of the competitions we would continue that until such time as it got a lower level of participation.

I thought the Image Manipulation contest that digitalMedia ran a while back was really cool. It had a lot of participation, too. I think we should have more of those in the mix :)

I've got it!

THE OZZU SEO CHALLENGE

The mods or BWM or someone will compile a short (or long) list of words, and when they put those words into the major search engines, the competitor whose avatar is consistantly closest to the #1 image result wins the comp. So if mine is the #4 on google images and #7 on yahoo images, and sporks is #1 and #4, then spork would beat me for example. Is that confusing enough? This might actually be a lousy competition just because it would be not that easy and would probably be time consuming and difficult to judge.

lol and incredibly objective.
The only fair way would be to require each submission to launch a new website (all concurrently on the submission date hopefully) for the fairest results, and would most likely take a few months (a year would be nice :P) to judge.

I could see it being feasible if Ozzu got a sponsor who would purchase the site/keywords/ranking once it was done, otherwise I can't see the investment being worth it.

I've got another, but it's not anything to crow about. We could have a "cutest couple self portrait" photo contest. That would be a good Valentines Day holiday themed one.

Nothing fancy, just a silly little idea I got.

If you still feel interested in this competition suggestion then remind me around mid January 2009. Okay?

Yeah, if it's mentioned around mid January something could be made in time for it to end around Feb 14th.

What about some coding? Like to perform a function that does a lot of things in least amount of coding possible?

We could use another css comp, it's been a good year at least since the last.

For the coding comp, I wonder if it would be easiest to do one for different languages. That way the C\C++ people could go against each other, the java people against each other, the assembler people, and so on. Because other wise judging them against eachother would be like making an apple pie with oranges.
