I would be interested to see what some people here can do - I'm not the best at flash but I can get done what I need to.

I've been in a few provincial and national website competitions via world skills/skills canada - I could post a scope for it?

It's basically a themed, timed competition with a concrete rhetoric for grading. Although, that would get a bit away from the "voting" aspect - unless we had judges?

It involves all elements of being a website developer - from front end to user interactivity to back end to load times.

I haven't had the chance to enter any Digital Art Competitions yet, fancy making another?

Any theme - just make it due when I don't have thousands of uni assignments? :(

A new digital art competition will be up sometime after the voting is finished for the current comp. The current comp just finished yesterday evening, so i don't imagine there to be another comp up for at least 2-3 weeks.

If you subscribe to the competitions forum you will be notified when new competitions start.

Thanks - I've joined the group. Looking forward to this ;)

Are the competitions always 13 days long? (Time to submit)

They generally are as long as this, however some have been extended when there is enough demand. The recent Web Design comp that was set up was initially 3 weeks long but ended up being extended by an extra week due to demand.

Can we have a competition for original design work.

Only photo shop allowed. This is to make sure the playing field is level as most designers have this but not other other things.

Here's a novel idea! I was inspired by a zombie movie I saw last night. We should have a 3D digital art\photo manipulation competition. The kind of 3d where you have to wear the red and blue glasses to see the depth of the 3rd dimension. I'm sure photoshop or your graphics software of choice is capable of that, and there is probably tutorials online for people to learn it for the comp.

Heres the 1968 version of that movie... (The first of it... the copyright is long gone so it's there for free view... seeing it a few times

I saw the trailer and the current version looks interesting...

There is the 1968 version directed by George Romero, then an official remake in 1992 (I think) directed by Tom Savini, and then there is a version of the 1968 original that has been remastered in color, and then this 3d version. I looooooooooooove zombie movies!

The version I provided is black and white... it's pretty cool though.

I quite like seeing the competitions being aimed towards more of an educational direction over the next year. The Macro comp was pretty handy as it allowed me to educate some of you on a technique that you could have used, ideally i'd like that to be spread across all comps where someone could leave a post explaining a technique that would be of help to someone for when they approach the comp.

Any competitions like the one you suggest are actually of some interest, however i'm not 100% convinced we should make it a digi comp/photography manip type comp. I think it should be one or the other and the title of the said comp would be "3D" or something like that.

To be honest a 3D photography or Digital Art comp would actually be very interesting to see what kind of way people approach this. What do you all think?
