there needs to be a limit on the # of participants for several reasons. One is this contest would go on too long, and the other is that too many people will want to do it. I htink it should be 8 people max.

IH8's question is a good one.

perhaps if you get a lot of people who want in, you could subdivide into groups; then have the winners of each group have a contest. Have it true tournament style

that's not a bad idea. I just don't think 12-50 people in this would be very fun. It would definitely lose its luster.

I agree, I originally had this planned as a tournament that Vladdrac stated, but it seemed impractical for one reason or another. UNFLUX since you are quite the veteran, would you suggest we shrink the numbers and have multiple groups?

IH8Purple, I'll just randomize them with a quick script.

I think if we were to get enough participants groups of three or four might be a good start?

Allow me to suggest. Tennis is a volley between 2 or 4 people. So as suggested, 8 would probably be a good max.

As an alternative, let's say 16. So sixteen people get to submit an original image.

Now those 16 are pared up into 8 groups. With me so far? The 8 pairs playoff the competition. That leaves 8 folks, four pairs.. The 8 get seeded by vote and play off for the quarterfinals.

*Repeats above instructions 4 get nixed, 4 remain. They get paired up by "seed" That would be the semi-finals.

Four play - Two get nixed, Two remain for the finals.

Voting can be determined as necessary,...

(It may not be necessary to folow any of the above suggestions b_heyer, but based on your last post, thought I'd offer it.

i think if we do a tournament style for something like this, 8 total people
max - 4 groups of 2. Any more than this, especially for an initial run, is
going to be too much.

K.I.S.S.
