Let's do the opposite to our last Website Design Competition

Create a three (3) page website dedicated to "The Past".

Please create something new and fresh - practice your skills! ;)

Rules:

* Your entry MUST contain your username anywhere on each of the pages
* Webpage design is strictly HTML and CSS only (with images)
* CSS is allowed of course and can be in a seperate file
* Please place images and CSS (if seperate from the html) in the same folder. In other words, ONE FOLDER FOR EVERYTHING.

You MUST also, after posting your entry, PM me a link to a .zip or .rar file with the .html doc and images in the one folder so I can put them up on the server for the final votes (All work remains copyright of yourself). Alternatively if you are a premium member you can attach your .zip/.rar file using the attachment feature provided.

Only one submission per user will be allowed.

You MUST have created the website yourself.

Any questions please ask in the thread. :D

Resolution: Please create with 800x600 users in mind.
Max total file size (inc images): 500KB
(Please ensure your entry meets the above before entering your piece - Entries not meeting critera will be notified by PM and given a couple of days to adjust it, but please get it right the first time) *poke*

Length: Competition closes on Monday, September 1st 2008 at 10:00 PM EST. Voting will last five days after close of competition.

Good luck and have fun!

I would assume that means no. :)

A few questions;
File structures - if we have say, an images folder inside the root folder, is this fine as long as it's all proper in one folder?

Are points awarded/deducted for error-free coding, or is this strictly the design aspect?

Does the way we achieve the design matter? Would a top-down CSS design beat a table design?

Providing your submitting just the one folder and you're not silly with the amount of aditional folders then i have no problems having sub folders.

I would probably do the same if i ever get round to submitting an entry. I tend to always have photos or images in a folder of it's own for the very reason you say...to keep things clean and tidy.

This sounds like it could be great fun ... I have to try and make time ... hopefully I can make some time ...

By the way, depending on the turn out for this competition i might start making this a regular thing on Ozzu so we have a variety of competitions that don't necessarily focus on the Photograph or Graphic Design side of things.

The website ones may work better with a 6 week window, with a week voting and a week downtime before posting a new one, thus a 2 month window to get some interest.

I may submit an entry for this competition, but I doubt it will be soon. I am working on 2 websites at the moment, one of which requires a lot of integrating scripts and adding tons of functionality

So how far along is everyone ? :D

I've got may base layout nailed down. I'm putting together my first pages content now.
I'm deciding on styles for content elements like h2 abbr, acronym, and p as I go along with that so all I'll have to do with the other two pages is put the content together.

If nobody beats me to it, I'll probably set the bar tomarrow sometime. :D
