On any of our templates you can see in the "Sources, Software & Requirements" section how many times it has been downloaded. This is how many people before you have purchased the template. If you purchase it at the buyout price then it will be removed from the marketplace and nobody else will be able to purchase the template. Anybody who has previously purchased the template will still legally be able to use it.
So my recommendation to you would be to find templates that have zero downloads if you want to be the only one with the template. On the "Advanced Search" area that you can access on the right, you can sort the results by the number of downloads to make it easier to find templates that have not been purchased yet.
