How much would you charge me to take the content off of my site....http://www.themerchantaccountcompany.com/

And transfer it on here?

I do NOT want to buy the website- just the template.

And then can I work on it if need be afterward at a later date- Will I have admin rights???

Thanks-

Bret Martin

Hi Bret,

This is just a basic template which includes HTML, CSS, and images. There are no admin areas, so anytime you want to change content you just need to edit the HTML. If you would like us to place your content from your other website for you, it will depend on how much you have. I visited your website and it just seems like you have around six pages or so of content. If that is the case it would probably take around 2 hours to transfer everything. If you need the template further customized, such as replacing pictures, modifying the way certain parts of your website look, etc, that would take more time. Our billing rate for these types of customizations is $150.00 hour.

Keep in mind that this is just a template, there is no backend, so the contact form by default will not work. If you need that to work some sort of contact script will need to be implemented. That is something we can do as well if you are interested.

During the checkout on this template you will also see an option to check to have your content customized (I believe up to 6 pages). That is via our partner and you are welcome to choose that as well. Overall they charge a bit lower than us which is why we offer that alternative. If you prefer to go directly with us you will need to contact us here instead and ignore that option when you purchase the template.

If you have any further questions please let me know. Thanks!

It needs to be able to have a place to send in contact info. I want a total site- just like the one I have- I can make changes on that one- I have learned how

Will I be able to make changes on this NEW ONE?

Yes, I would like to have you do the content swap off my other site- I have done this before, but only in sites that allow me to make changes without javascript, etc.

As far as pictures go, those on the template are fine.

Tell me what options to choose and I'll buy it!

I do all my hosting with IPAGE... Are you better? Faster?

And is this FLASH? or will it feed organically with Google?

Hi Bret,

You would be absolutely welcome to make changes, but again there is no admin area, so all changes would have to be done by editing the HTML. If you are okay with that then you may have to learn a few things if you are not familiar with editing HTML. If you need some sort of admin area to edit the content, you might want to choose one of our templates that already have a backend integrated. On the menu on your right that would be any of our CMS templates.

Since you do not have that many pages I do think a CMS is overkill for what you need, but that would be up to your preferences. There are many free tutorials across the internet which teach you how to work with and edit HTML. We also provide some tutorials with the template that can assist -- or you can hire us to make any changes when you need them. Is the only dynamic part of your website your contact form? Everything else is just static pages correct?

There is no Flash on this template, but it does come with a mobile version of the template. However, since this is just a template you would need to set things up to be able to dynamically choose what version of the template to show. I am not sure if you are interested in the mobile layout -- or if you are just wanting the main layout.

I would recommend you use our web hosting. It will make it easier for us to customize things to your exact needs as we have full control and familiarity with our servers. If you feel Ozzu is fast, it would be in one of the same datacenters that our Ozzu servers are located.

Finally if you are interested in going forward here are the steps you should take:

First purchase this template. Do not choose any additional options during checkout, just obtain the template.

Second obtain our website hosting.

Third, if you would like your old site to keep displaying while we work on your new website in a test area on your domain, we will need access to your old host so we can transfer everything for you.

Fourth, once we have everything transferred you will need to modify your DNS nameservers at your domain registrar to point to us. We can assist you there if you need help.

At that point everything will load on our end and we can begin the process to customize your website. We require that for customizations that a retainer fund is paid, usually we base this on our quote. From my understanding you will want your content transferred into the new design, and the contact form setup to be functional. I am thinking around two hours to transfer your content, and another hour to setup your contact form. So that would be an additional $450 (3 hours x $150/hr) you would pay before we start the customization process.

We could also set this template up with a backend such as CodeIgniter which would allow for lots of frontend optimizations such as combining all of your CSS files into one, JS files into one (makes your page load faster), make it easier to edit headers and footers (as you would only have to edit one file, versus every single page), etc. Something I would recommend, but that would take another two hours to setup initially. In the long run it would decrease time spent on customizations if you have plans for other things you want. If your website will always be very simple, again that could still be overkill. Just something I thought I would mention.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Thanks Bret!

Best Regards,

Brian-
Great Job man!

Ok, here goes... I edit the site quite frequently in HTML- I also attached my metatags and keywords... It was a bitch and took a while to figure out but I did it.

Here is another site of mine- I built it- very mid-eveil.... http://www.isorecruiters.com/ I am a recruiting company.

I love this website #38389... I have been eyeing it for months... I just love it. The length, width, everything- Yes, my prospective ISO's need to be able to see it on mobile devices.

I will need your help-

Will I ever be able to contact you directly?

When you say backend I don't know what you mean.

Yes, you can have access to my IPAGE info so we can point it!!!

Hi Bret,

Once we get started with this we can start doing the rest of our communications directly via e-mail. I am sure that will probably be easier for this.

I will explain a bit more what I mean by backend. Basically there are usually two parts to a website. The first part is the frontend, and that is the part that everyone sees when they goto your website. It is all of the HTML, images, layout, how your website interacts with the user, etc. The backend is anything that goes on behind the scenes. For example, when someone fills out your contact form on the frontend and hits "Submit", then that gets sent to the server to be processed on the backend. The backend then takes the information submitted, sanitizes it, and then follows what is programmed for it to do with it, such as send an e-mail to you.

Another example is what is going on with this discussion we are having. We are both interacting with the frontend, but when you post here it gets sent to our server and processed on our backend. The information you type gets stored in a database. These are all things you cannot see, but it is a vital part of the experience.

Hope that makes sense :)

Once the hosting is ordered and setup on our end I can contact you via e-mail and you can provide me the information I need so that I can go in and transfer things for you. I will then provide you updates and further information on what you will need to do. I would like to get everything transferred before you change your DNS to point to our servers so that you have zero downtime with your website. Then your new site we can put into a test directory until you are happy with everything. Once its all finalized then we can move that to be live for your visitors :)

Great job again!

Ok, start to 85-90% done, how many hours do you anticipate?

I know my 5 keywords- exactly- Can you set them?

-and the Metatags? I know exactly what to use.

And when can we start?

Thanks Brain!!!

Hi Bret,

After you purchase the template and buy the hosting then the hours would be estimated around this:

0.50 hrs - Transfer hosting (no additional charge, comes with hosting package)
0.25 hrs - Set any e-mail accounts you want @yourdomain (no additional charge, comes with hosting package)
2.00 hrs - Upload new template to your website on our server, update your textual content
1.00 hrs - Setup your contact form so that it processes data submitted and send to your email.

So just about 4 hours total, but 3 billable hours at our $150 rate. This is for just the above. If you have further tweaks here and there such as changes to images, changes to layout, getting your map setup on contact page, and anything else you need those will all add more hours. My best suggestion would be to just do the above first, and then once all of that is done if you need further changes I can give you more quotes on exactly what your needs are. I am always here for any further tweaks or updates you need to your website, or you can always try to update things yourself first -- and use me as a backup for anything you need help on.

Hope that seems clear :)

Just realized I missed this question from you. It is not a problem to set these. I would recommend no longer using the meta keyword tag though as Google and other search engines really do not look at that anymore due to the abuse by them. The meta description tag is still important though as the snippets that show up in the search results are sometimes grabbed from there. So for each of your pages I would recommend providing me a unique short description for what you would want to use for the meta description tag for those pages. Each page should be different and relate to what is on that page. I wouldn't put too much time into it though, they aren't going to be what makes you rank or not rank for certain items.
