Yesterday I purchased template 34436 (transaction ID: xxxxxxxxxxx)
and I can't get the slider to display images. I can create a slider object
but I don't know what to use for the 'Name' and 'Value' fields.

Hi Steve,

Do you happen to have this online somewhere so I can see what you have tried so far?

I have also filed this with our tech team, so I will let you know once I hear more.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your quick response. I have it running locally so you can't
really see it. But I think my problem is more fundamental -- like, how
and where does one specify the images that are to be displayed by the
slider. Perhaps if someone on your tech team could install the theme in
wordpress then they'd better understand my question.

Thanks,
Steve

The tech team got back to me and told me this:

In order to make the site look like live demo, please, import sql file via phpmyadmin. And please follow these steps:

1. Please, copy the folder with the theme to /wp-content/themes/ folder.
2. Then, copy and unzip files from the folder "plugins" to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder. Also you need to set up permissions 777 on plugins directory and content of this folder.
3. Copy "uploads" folder to \wp-content folder.
4. Please, import theme.sql file via phpmyadmin.

That would set it up so that the slideshow is already working, and then you could just make changes from there.

Let me know if that helps at all.

Hi Brian,

Still no go -- it still appears as a blank template. I believe I've followed the instructions below and also the documentation that comes with the template. Roughly, here's what I've done:

1. I've copied the them to /wp-content/themes
2. I've copied the plugins and changed permissions to 777. The plugins appears in wordpress and I've activated them.
3. I've copied the upload folder.
4. I've imported the theme.sql -- modified to point at my website. One note -- the import initially failed because the database izotop_wp_theme1286 did not exist. My hosting account only allows me to create databases that begin with wifianal_. So, in the theme.sql file I renamed the database to wifianal_wp620 and then the import succeeded and I can see the tables.

But, within the wordpress admin area everything is still empty. It's almost as if the theme and the database are not yet wired together.

Thanks,
Steve

Before you installed the theme was everything working? What version of WordPress are you using?

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your quick responses. I've now got the site up and running. I think the problem was due to a mismatch in database names. The documentation for the template instructs the user to substitute the text "your_website_here" with http ://www. in the theme.sql file -- which I did. However, near the top of the .sql file it specifies the name of the database as izotop_wp_theme1286 -- but that's not the name created by my wordpress installation. Furthermore, my hosting site *always* prepends a specific string to a database name and, so, there is no way I can create a database and name it izotop_wp_theme1286. So, the fix was to replace izotop_wp_theme1286 with the name of an empty database I had already created and then re-import the theme.sql file.

By the way -- this is an excellent theme -- the best I've come across in the short time I've been working with wordpress.

Thanks,
Steve

Thank you for letting me know how you resolved this. Glad you were able to investigate and figure that out, would have been hard for us I think without having access to it. Thanks for the compliments, I am glad you enjoy the theme!
