I would like to buy your charity wordpress template. However I would like to know first if I can freely customize it in wordpress. For instance can I change in wordpress EASILY (no coding necessary) the color of the top banner, and overall dark/black colour to a yellow for instance? I need this answer to decide if I will buy this or not for an ngo.

WordPress will let you do alot easily as far as managing the content on the site, but to change colors on the site it will most likely need you to get into the CSS and change some code there (you can do this via the WordPress admin area too for editing the CSS code directly). So for you this might not be easy, in my opinion its very easy though. It just depends who you have working on it and the skill level they have. I hope that helps with your question.

I am thinking the billing department would decline your request to have a refund for those reasons because our templates are customizable and we do provide tutorials. What I would recommend is you play around with our free sample template first so that you know exactly what to expect and if our product is for you. You can find our sample templates here:

Hello, I'm building a charity website for a childrens airambulance service
using wordpress and like this template.
However it seems to have flash elements and I need to edit the text in the
flash bit... can I do this if I download the wordpress theme? Is the flash

Those parts are all flash, and the source .fla files are included so that you can make any changes that you want. The difficulty of changing them will depend on your experience at working with flash, and you will need to make sure you have at least Adobe Flash 8 or greater (the editor).

When you say account, are you referring to your bank account, or your Paypal account? Could you do me a favor and login to your Paypal account and check the status of that payment? While it may have been deducted from your bank account, it may not be cleared yet with Paypal yet.

Yup I bet that is it. See the money doesn't get sent from your bank account to us. It first goes to Paypal and once they have confirmed that they received it then they send the money to us. Once that occurs the template will be released to you. That is how the e-check option works.

I'm having problems installing my template. I've tried to uncompress it with my password but then it says, "windows can't open this file. To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it...." I can't seem to find the correct file either.

You will need to first download and install "Winzip". You can find that searching through Google. Then if you have already downloaded the template package to your computer somewhere which ends in a .zip extension, you will open it up in Winzip to decompress the contents to another folder somewhere on your computer.

Yes you are absolutely welcome to change the pictures. To do so you need to edit the source .fla files if you are referring to the larger images at the top.

Ok, purchased the template - installed and running on my site - but need some assistance in where to go to modify the images for the flash doc. I have Flash CS3 professional, I have the document opened and can see the _pic folder and the pic_1 stage file for the 'first' image - but when I import my own image and try to plug it in, there is obviously some step I'm missing in replacing the image that the action script is reference - if you have a document that can help with this specifically or can give me some guidance, I would appreciate it.

Hello Brian,
I've finally purchased a webhost, and now I'm busy with the website but there's a problem. I can't seem to upload my theme using Wordpress. I've tried to copy and paste the URL link that I got but it doesn't work. I understand that the file needs to be unzipped and I did this using winzip.
I tried to "install" the theme under the "appearance" folder in Wordpress but then it didn't work because the file is in the Winzip folder and I can't seem to copy and paste it on my desktop or in a folder.
Can you please help me here?

You first need to extract the files out of winzip so that the files are no longer in a zip file. You should then be able to select the folder to install. So the steps are:
1. Open WordPress admin panel, and go to the Appearance -> Themes tab.
2. At the top click the Install Themes tab
3. The click the Upload link to upload the theme package file from your computer.
4. Open the template package and locate the theme### folder. You need to arhcive this folder to have something line theme###.zip file. It’s required by the WordPress uploader as it can’t handle the folder uploads.
5. When you are done archiving the theme folder go back to the WordPress admin panel and at the upload page browse for the theme###.zip fie and click Install Now button.
6. When the upload is complete you need to Activate the theme. Click the Activate theme link.
Alternatively you can do it via FTP. To do it via that method follow these steps:
Download the theme archive and extract the files. You need to preserve the directory structure in the archive when extracting these files. Using an FTP client to access your host web server, create a directory to contain your theme in the "wp-content/themes" directory provided by WordPress. You should be extracting the entire folder from the template package. Then after that you need to re-package it as a .zip file if you want to install it through the WordPress interface.
So again what you need to do is first open your zip file and look for the theme### folder. Then extract that folder out to your computer. Then re-package that as a separate zip file. Then with that file that is the file that your WordPress is looking for.
Alternatively you can just upload via FTP per the other instructions.

Sometmes it says things like "file transfer failed" and "transfer complete," but then it starts to upload again! :(

In the same flash swf (in the template) is it possible to rotate the images? Was that built in to the code where I can either change it in the xml or within the fla document?

You will just have to know how to use Adobe Flash enough to be able to do something like that. You may want to try and find some tutorials via Google to for rotating images in Adobe Flash.

Here I am AGAIN! :)
So, I've managed to upload the theme, change some texts, etc; but there's one "big" problem: changing the picture(s) within the flash and finding some of the pics that are visible on the template website! I can't seem to do this.
Also, there are certain "categories" that require links/pages and I can't seem to do this either. For example: In the header, I'd like a link/page for the "contact us" thing but I'm quite oblivious as to how this is done, and I've searched all over google (or maybe not) and I still can't seem to find an answer! :(
I've checked the site for your tutorials but the ones I really want to read dont have a page with more information.

If you are wanting to remove the Flash portions, that would require you to edit the HTML directly I believe. That means you would have to edit the actual template parts. I don't think we have any tutorials with that part, but the Flash parts in the HTML usually have the object and embed HTML tags. So if you look for that you might be able to find those parts easier.
Hopefully those other tutorials I sent you will be of assistance if you decide to try and edit the flash.

So, in the CSS below the flash that contains the 3 columns: Haiti, Crisis, Medical, etc..: I am changing it to use images as a background instead of text - and I am also replacing the button(s). The problem is, I have basically only modified the existing CSS (.but1) which contains padding for the image - however, I don't know where to go to adjust the positioning of the button. Right now (www.unitedheartsghana.org) You can see that it's almost finished, but the button positioning is off. I can't use top/left/right/left etc.. positioning, because that positions the buttons relative to the document, not within the CSS container for each column, so I'm a bit stuck at the moment - could you please tell me where to go to do this?

There are probably numerous ways you can do this. If you edit the CSS for .but1 class you could adjust the margin by adding something like this:
margin: -30px 0 0 0;
You will see that will move the button up 30 pixels. The first number is for the top margin, the second number is for the right margin, the third number is for the bottom margin, and the last number is for the left margin. Let me know if that helps!

I can't seem to locate or understand what the "Dump File" is mentioned in the dump file read me section, any clarity would be greatly appreciated!

The dump file is referring to the SQL file that you would import to get the template to be populated with all of the data that is shown in the demo. Basically once you import the dump SQL file it gets your template to the state to look exactly like it is shown in the demo. Typically the dump.sql file is located in the sources.zip file which is included in your template package. You will usually need a password to extract any files from that zip file, and the password is your order ID. I hope that helps :)

Most webhosts provide you some sort of access to phpMyAdmin or some other sort of database tools with your hosting account. Most customers usually go into phpMyAdmin and then select the right database for your WP setup, and then run the SQL that is in the dump file.
I don't think there would be anything you would have to do with permissions, you just need to find out from your webhost how you can manage your databases. Again most web hosts do provide you some sort of access to phpMyAdmin, as that would be the easiest tool to do this. So you may want to ask your host about that.

Any chance that flash part is available in html or a different script? editing the FLA is not easy and anyone editing this template would need to know flash pretty well.
also.. phones, ipads, ipods etc.. basically anything mobile these days are not flash friendly..
hope you can help.. otherwise i am in the process of downloading a program in hopes it'll be able to convert the FLA to HTML.

We can't edit the 'fla' file because we can't seem to locate it. Neither have we followed your tutorials because the videos don't work for us. Isn't there a less complicated way? It seems as though other queries on this forum are about the flash as well... maybe there's just a problem with it?

Thanks again for sending me those tutorials. So just to straighten a few things out real quick. To change the text all I will need is dreamweaver? Does the template come with a donation form and or connect to paypal? To change the landing (home) page image would i need to get macromedia flash? Would I need to use flaw on all the images i want to import ?

I've just download the theme. But in my theme I have problem with fonts. In Kozuka Theme as normal there is no Turkish characters like I, Ş, Ç etc.

If you take a look at our demo, that is exactly how the template will come. It will have the exact same features as shown there. So if something does not work there, then it will not work in what you download. If something does work on the demo, then it should work on what you download. Our designers will sometimes develop things on the frontend to give you a good starting point and further ideas on what you can do that you may need to further develop on your own. When I took a look at the demo I did not see any donation form or connect to Paypal, which means you may need to find some sort of Paypal plugin or edit the template directly to implement that portion.
If you wish to change the Flash on the homepage, or any other page with this template then yes you would need an Adobe Flash editor at least version 8 or greater.

Okay I have an answer for you. This will show you how to use the Cufon plugin with WordPress. Cufon is a jquery plugin that allows you to use custom fonts on your website and guarantees that custom fonts will have same appearance for all visitors.
Cufon font-replacement feature in WordPress can be activated installing the WP-Cufón plugin. So make sure you install this plugin first.
1. First you have to convert your font-file into a Cufón compatible format. Currently TrueType (TTF), OpenType (OTF), Printer Font Binary (PFB) formats are supported.
2. You can do this by using Cufón’s own generator at http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/
3. Open /wp-content/plugins/ folder and create fonts folder. There you’ll upload the cufon font files (.font.js). The Plugin will recognize your uploaded fonts and activate them.
4. Open WordPress admin panel, go to Appearance>Cufon.
5. Into the Your Cufón replacement-code field input the font replacement code. For Example:
You should define the HTML element (h1 – h6, div, body, a, input etc) or some css class or ID (.entry-title, .widget-title, #content etc) and font family.

The text that you are referring to can be edited via the WordPress dashboard. It is located in Appearance - Editor - file header.php
There really isn't a module for that to just point, click, and update. When you do the above you are actually editing the source template file via the WordPress admin area. So please keep that in mind. If you have any problems editing that please let us know. You are more than welcome to customize the template as much as you want, changing text, images, the layout, etc. The difficulty of that will vary depending on your skill level at working with WordPress and web design.

I just downloaded and installed and trying to figure out how to configure everything. Changing logo, and main image etc. I'm used to making these changes within a designated menu option w/n Wordpress so I'd like to know which .php page does which? I understand CSS for colors... This template was made and only tested with WordPress 2.9. You are more than welcome to use it with Wordpress 3.1 and it may work fine, but there is a chance that there could be a few problems that you need to fix to get it to work correctly.

hey man I would like to retract my last message. I have gotten it to work but I don't know how to redirect the buttons in the main header to particular urls. It just sends me back to the home page every time. I have looked through the code and could not find where these functions are listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The tech responded back to me and told me this. To edit read more buttons links on home page please edit header.php file from the Appearance - Editor section in the WordPress Admin area. Please edit the following lines:

Yes i was able to watch it but im looking to change the 3 large buttons on the right side of the header. Where it says donate 5 donate 10 donate 25 www.bigheartslilhands.com it is a youth inspired charity for the homeless.

After you put the URL into the tags there you would then save that file, open the Flash file, and the export the movie and save it over your other on your website. You will also want to clear your cache and completely close your browser so that it loads the new changes you made.

No, please do not upload the sources zip file to your hosting account. Simply open that on your computer and extract the files there. My name is Aaron Stella. I'm currently trying to import the dump file version of this template (30418). I got into the phpMyAdmin site for our URL, hit the import button, selected the sql dump file and told it to upload. BUt then I got an error message:

What is the name of your database? Did you select that before you tried to import the dump file? If you did but are still getting that error, you can try to add this to the top of the dump file:
use your_database_name;
And then try to import it again. Hopefully that will make sure your database is selected before proceeding. Your current error indicates that no database was selected, so hopefully this will fix that.

That worked just fine. Thank you. However, now when I go to the site, there's nothing there. It just comes up with a blank page. Is there something I have to activate before I can see the site? It has to do with your web host configuration. If you goto the file it is trying to load:

I have a web developer working on this template right now, and she can't find the reason why the web site isn't pulling from the blog. Basically, no matter what we do, post do no appear in the blog section as displayed in the live demo. Was wondering if you had any answers for this. Everything else works fine except for that one thing, so everything was installed correctly. Would love some help. Thanks!

Are you using WordPress 2.9, or a 3.x version? I will send this to our techs to see if they have any clues. It is possible that if you are using a 3.x version that part of the template needs to be updated to pull the posts correctly.

Hi Aaron,
I am not sure offhand, but I would advise just going through the template, particularly the part of the template where you are having problems and making sure it is using proper WordPress code that is compatible with 3.x. If you go here:

You can see the proper way that posts are pulled via the loop. You could have your developer make sure all of that looks correct.
If things already look correct, did you first install the template on WordPress 2.9 to see if it worked, and then upgraded to the current 3.x version to see if it breaks at that point?
Still waiting to hear back from the techs, sometimes they can take up to 24-48 hours, but as soon as I get a response I will let you know what they think.

So, my designer brought on two developer friends of hers who have been in the business for 15 years, and they haven't been able to resolve the issue. They say that either something is missing or that the compatibility issues are unresolvable. In any case, We might have to go with a new template since we are using one for a major non-profit and we're on such a tight deadline. At the same time, I really don't what to have to go back to the drawing board over this. You've been so helpful throughout this process. I just wanted know if you knew of any other work-arounds or if the techs got back to you yet? Thanks so much for your help. -Aaron

As long as Godaddy allows you to run PHP and use MySQL I see no reason why you would not be able to install WordPress and use this template. You may want to ask them. If you are still looking for a host we also offer website hosting and we fully support all of our templates.

As far as I am aware there are no plans to advance this to be compatible with WordPress 3.2. I can always make a request again though, and see if the developers will do so. I will let you know their response as soon as I have it.

It would make sense to do an upgrade or take this down. It's a lot of money for a them that doesn't work with the latest version, especially since someone looking for a theme is likely to be using the latest version.

I understand what you are saying Nathan, however, we still get users wanting to use this with the older legacy WordPress 2.x software. That is the main reason we do not remove templates that are not created with the latest versions in mind.
Second, we also get users who decide to buy this theme and upgrade it to be compatible to WordPress 3.x themselves because they cannot find another look that they want.
This theme was recently released as a Flash CMS Charity Template, not sure if you would be interested in that.
If our developers ever create a version of this template made for WordPress 3.x I will be sure to post an update here.

I bought the theme and it is running on Wordpress 2.9. For some reason, I can't see to get the top tabs to show up. All I see is the About tab and there is no Charities, Program, What You Can Do?, and Contacts. How do I get them to show?

We have no instructions on how to update this theme to be compatible to a newer version of WordPress. Others in the past have used this theme with newer version of WordPress and I believe had to make a few changes to get it to all work correctly. There are numerous tutorials on the internet which explain how to update WordPress themes to be compatible to newer versions.
My recommendation to you if you really want this theme would be to first buy it and see if you can make it work. If you cannot figure out how to make it work with the latest version of WordPress we are available at an additional charge to go in and upgrade it for you.
I know that isn't exactly the answer you wanted, but I hope it helps you some.

Officially we can only guarantee that it will work with WordPress 2.9, but if you follow the steps I am about to show you this template can work correctly on 3.3.2.
The key to getting the template working like in the demo above with WordPress 3.3.2 is that you cannot just install the latest version of WordPress and then install the template as well as the theme1093.sql dump file. Hi, I have just purchased template 30418 and am quite proficient with wordpress but not with flash. Do you have any tutorials on how to do the following with the flash file:
How to change the main 3 images
How to get the horizontal blocks below the images to resize if I add different words - (ie: if I change the word 'pray' to 'please donate items' I have managed to get the words to show but the block the word appears in does not resize - the words overlap into the next area)
How to attach hyperlinks to all buttons on the flash video so the navigation works

If you plan to use this template on WordPress 3+, the catch is that with this template you will first need to install it on WordPress 2.9. Once you have followed the instructions to install it, then you would at that time upgrade to the current version of WordPress which at this moment is 3.4.1. I have tested it going that route and upgrading that way works. I have a video in the works, but am not ready to post it on this page yet. I do plan to do that soon, as that could be a good way to really understand exactly what sort of process you would go through.
Other than that there would be no coding involved unless you need to customize the template further to look differently than what you see above in the demo.

Thanks for the speedy response. I'm trying to help out a non profit and an am volunteering to build them a website. I don't have any knowledge or experience in the programs you mentioned and was wondering if this would be easy to figure out and use or am I out of my league.

In my opinion this is very easy, but I am also very experienced. I guess it depends on if you are typically good at following technical instructions. To get this to work you will be working with WordPress, you will have to have some knowledge of working with web hosting, uploading files, etc. I imagine the organization you are working for already has a domain and hosting, but if they do not we also offer that service and could install the template free of charge if they host with us (re-occurring fees for hosting). Alternatively you could pay us to install and update the template, but I suppose that defeats your purpose here.
What you could do is download our sample wordpress theme, and see if you are able to get that functioning correctly. If you can get that functioning, then you should have the necessary skills to use this template. Hopefully that helps in determining if this template is for you.

During the checkout process, you will see an option you can check to have someone install it for you. At this time I believe that is $49. They will install it for you with WordPress 2.9 as that is the only version we can guarantee it will work on. Once it is installed, you could then go through and update to the current WordPress by going in the WordPress admin area, I don't believe that price would include that part, but generally that process is very simple.

Yes it makes sense if installed correctly on the old version then I can update to the new version and it should work fine without any issues. Just to double check all the pages and tabs and everything would already be there and be included in the template all I would do then would replace the existing information with the info for the organization that I'm volunteering for.

We do have a section for WordPress 3.x Templates. I would suggest browsing through any of those. What I would suggest is looking at the look and feel to see if something would fit your needs. Remember you can always replace pictures and content, so even if a template is about cooking, you can still change that.

Great I checked out the link you sent me and like Wordpress Template 38857, this one also has all tabs and pages as seen in the demo and I would just need to replace information, images, posts, other content. Additionally would it be simpler to install and use then this theme?

The installation process would be similar. You would probably need to install a dump file still if you want it to look identical to the demo. However, this other template is already made for WordPress 3.x, so you should most likely have no problems installing it on the latest version of WordPress since the latest Wordpress is still in the 3.x range. Template 38857 was made and tested with WordPress 3.3.1, so if for some reason you did have a problem installing it on a later version of WordPress, you would want to try installing it on that version first before upgrading. However, typically major changes with the WordPress database do not change with minor updates, so I am thinking that wouldn't be an issue and you could probably install it on the current version of WordPress, unlike the template on this page which would need to be installed with WordPress 2.9.

For all of your questions, the answer is yes. You are more than welcome to customize it by using your own images. You are welcome to change the look of the theme, the text, content, etc to meet your needs. That includes changing colors, etc. The difficulty of doing any of that though will depend on your skill level at working with web design which includes HTML, CSS, and your understanding of WordPress and how to edit WordPress based themes. So that could be anywhere from easy to hard depending on your skills.
You may want to try and download one of our sample WordPress templates, which you can access from the menu on your right. That might give you a good idea of what to expect.

#content .column-center{width:645px; float:left}
#content .column-right{width:205px; margin-right:10px; float:right}
and #'d out the left tail2.gif (background vertical line).

What is happening as you probably noticed is that in the widget area of the admin section if you put something in the left sidebar, then the default stuff disappears. However, if you don't put anything, then the default items show which is the "Meta" and "Archive" section.
Here is what you need to do to remove that section completely. In the WordPress admin area goto:
Appearance
Then
Editor
Then on the right hand side under Templates click on sidebar-1.php. Then at that point you may want to copy all the text in there and save in a notepad editor for backup. Then remove all of the text:
<div class="column-left">
...
</div>
so that basically all that is left there is:
<div class="column-center">
Then click on "Update File"
At that point you will need to make a few CSS changes so that the center column covers a wider area. So what you need to edit next is the stylesheet which is on that same editor page under "Styles". Click on "Stylesheet" and find where it says:
#content .column-center
In there change width from 425px to 694px. Finally one last change is to find in that same stylesheet where it says:
.bg
and basically comment out or remove that entire block. Once you make those changes above it should be how you want.
Remember to backup all your files before making these changes just in case you do something wrong.

I must have been working on my response the same time you were. Your way works as well, basically just hides the content but will still be there in the source. If you want to fully remove that sidebar from the source you may want to follow my instructions.

It seems there's a lot of issues with Flash with this theme. Could you verify where Flash is used? On quick glance it appears it's only the 960 x 525 block on the homepage, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't anywhere else before I considered pulling it out to replace with js. Any chance you could recommend a similar theme from OZZU with a jquery carousel on the homepage?

This template is not built to be responsive for different devices, so you would have to do some work if you want it to be that way. We do sell responsive templates that work for multiple devices that you may want to check out.

Hi,
I currently have purchased this template and I am very interested in utilizing the animation/graphics at the top of the main page with the picture and the 3 buttons (Donate Money, Donate Food, Volunteer). Where can I find these to activate on our pages? Is there a specific file!

Are you simply wanting to change what they link to? If so follow this quick video tutorial:

If you are wanting to actually change what they say I believe you will need to edit the header_v8.fla file which you can find in the sources zip file. You will need an Adobe Flash editor to be able to make changes there.

Hello Again,
I am currently working with this template, and there are certain pages on my site in which I would like to remove the grey bar which has the 3 features (Haiti, crisis, medical fund). Could you tell me what file includes this, and how I can remove it from specific pages, because I only need it on my main page.

What you will need to do is find header.php in the theme folder and there is some html that starts like this:
Right before that HTML starts you need to add:
and after the last closing div for that block you need to add:
and that should make it so that area only shows up on your home page. I hope that helps!

Hi Again,
What xml file/header file gives me the opportunity to add links to the top 3 flash buttons at the top of the main page (donate animated buttons)? I recently watched the tutorial video which showed how, however i went to the folder and file which was changed in the video and made the changes, and it didnt do anything. Please help!

Hi Melissa,
You will want to change it in your theme folder, in the example video they did it in the sources folder which won't work for your live site. So it would be at this location:
wp-content/themes/theme1093/flash/tfile_main.xml

HI,
I will be using the Haiti, crisis, and earth tabs to display most recent campaigns that will be posted on my site. is there anyway that I can set these 'campaign' tabs/divs so that they are dynamic? The most recent 3 campaigns added to the page should fill them in.

and then with that you could grab the latest 3 posts and display those there. Depending on your experience at working with web design, WordPress, and programming, this could be an advanced task as far as being able to implement this.

Inside your template package there will be a sources.zip file that you will need to extract all of the files from. The password is your order ID. Inside that file will be the source .fla files that you need to be able to change any images in the Flash parts of the website. You will need an Adobe Flash editor to be able to edit that part.
In your download e-mail there is a link to all of our tutorials. In that section you can also find Flash tutorials which show you how to change images in the .fla source files.

Once you see the library on the right hand side scroll down until you see a folder called "pic_". Expand that folder and look for an image called "pic_5". Right click on that and goto properties, and then click the "Import" button and put in the new picture that you want. You will want to make sure that this new picture is the same dimensions as before which is 761 x 454 pixels.

The last time we spoke you mentioned something about our folder containing a link to various tutorials related to our theme. However my template did; Is there anyway we can have those tutorials! Do you have a version of the slider which is not a flash?

Hi Achilles, unfortunately not with this template. You would have to pay for customization or do the work to replace the Flash portion with some sort of other sort of JavaScript slider.
