Downloaded the newest version and played with it for about an hour and came up with this:

It still needs some work -- gotta get rid of the clipping on the beach and do some work on the water reflections, but I do love this program. I need to seriously get back into it and register the darned thing. It has so much potential. I just thought that wasn't too bad for the first time in two years.

Thanks -- I think you might like this one better (I think I did it with version.7 something or other) It's the last one I did a couple years ago before I got distracted with other things:

I speant some time on the surface maps and water on that one.

I had that one almost perfect except I didn't pay enough attention to the sky on that one. *lol -- It was probably one of the few instances where I was more concerned with land than air *grins -- all in all, though, the second one was the best I've made so far with Terragen. And I did that with very minimal knowledge of the product. If I studied it a bit, and registered it to get the higher res and download a few plugins, I think that would be my "in" for a digital arts kinda thing.

//sad part is I have reformatted 4 times since then, so I have no idea if I snagged the original terrain, surface map, or world files anywhere *sighs.

If anyone would like to see a bit of history on Terragen check here:

And I'll tell you what...I have never seen anyone do better with it than Kees Veenenbos:
