ok...here is my problem. i have a .psd file that was used to make a bunch of different gif images. the gif images are all different in that they have a different name on them. on the right side of all of the gif's there is a little blinking image. now when i go in photoshop and i open up the psd file and change the name and save it the graphic on the right wont blink anymore. does anyone know how i can do this without making the thing on the right stop blinking?

thanks,
assneck

You will need to use Adobe imageready (comes bundled with PhotoShop) to edit or modify animated gif's as far as i know. here is an excerpt from the adobe help file:

Quote:
You can open an existing animated GIF in ImageReady using the File > Open command. The file is opened as a stack of layers. Each layer corresponds to one frame. In each frame, the layer for that frame is visible, and the layers for the other frames are hidden.

Opening existing animated GIF files in ImageReady is useful primarily for applying optimization settings to the files. The one-layer-per-frame structure of imported animated GIF files may make it impractical to edit animation frames in other ways.

hope that helped

I use ImageReady too from Adobe for my animated gifs. I really enjoy it. You can do lots of stuff and it works great with Adobe Photoshop if you have them both open at the same time. When you make a change in one it automatically updates the other. Very slick :)

all of the adobe products work like that actually.

When I was working on the cd layout, I was editing the pics in photoshop
and laying it out in illustrator. if I made a change in photoshop, and
went back to illustrator it would prompt me and update. You're right,
very slick.

i agree - adobe's other products are inferior to photoshop's and
illustrator's power.
