We just got a copy for our school newspaper (education version of course) for about the same price.

Buy the cheap version, don't open it, then take it back with your full-price receipt for a refund? ;)

As far as I know, it's the same exact identical box, only difference is the price.

I'm guessing it's an upgrade and you can't install if you don't have photoshop ellements. We have it at work, but not on the machines I need it on. It's OK -- I have it and am loving it!

Nope, it is the full thing. The forum I found out about this on, at least a dozen people have bought it... Most of them had completely uninstalled Elements (as per Adobe's recommended instructions) and one installed it on a freshly formatted PC (with an OS installed, obviously, heh).
