Post 3+ Months Ago

Hi,

I really enjoy coding websites and the whole process of creating the graphics etc..

Trouble is Im not a graphic designer neither am I arty...I mean if you gave me a pencil and piece of paper I could quite easily draw stick men but thats it....

I really need advice on how to become good at creating banners, knowing which colours go well with websites, and other graphic design knowledge...

How would you advise me to go about learning this?

I do loads of tutorials in photoshop which I can change to suit my needs however I really want to be able to create my own work...

Can you guys help me increase my skills in this area?

All help and advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Cheers!

since you've already tried on those tutorials... start developing your creativity. i think making banners needs a lot of imagination. About the colors... i will go back later, i think i have a site that gives tips on color combi.

A lot of us go to school or have gone to school for art. Remember that class you took in school for an easy "A". Take it again, but pay attention this time, it will help. However that will only cover the basic knowledge of basic shapes, color combinations, proportion, etc. Creativity can not be taught and it is most unfortunate that you are right handed and not born in the months of January or February, that will only make the road to creativy a bit harder. :) Don't fret, there is hope. Practice makes perfect. Take all critism with a grain of salt (what does that mean anyway) and listen, your peers will let you know where you need improvement.
