The Zone Alarm is the cause - you need to go into Privacy - Main - Ad Blocking and turn ads on -- High and medium stop all animation

Here's something new. I uninstalled both Spybot and ZoneAlarm and the animation works. The question is, which one is it? ZoneAlarm or SpyBot that's causing the problem?

It's Zone Alarm. I had the same problem. Zone Alarm can also mess up the appearance of websites.

:!:

Zone Alarm is blocking your animated Gif.

Go to the ZA control Panel, on "Privacy", set "Ad Blocking" to "off"

You will be able to see your animated gif.

I had the same issue and it was a setting in my Zone Alarm Pro. Under Privacy I had to turn off the Add Blocking. This will allow the animated .gif files to work.

I came to this ancient thread because I have an animated gif which a friend of mine only sees the first frame of. He uses Zone Alarm and that was noted at the end of this thread, but never reported if that was the problem. At any rate, the gif can be seen at

http://www.concordplayers.org/audition.html

It should start off with a blank frame, but I put in the final frame for 1/100 of a second to start because if you only see one frame, it should be that. But for those who see the animation, that first quick frame is annoying.

I don't know if anyone will come to this thread after a year of silence. I may need to repost. We'll see..
