The EOS5 is a 35mm camera. In the US it's called the Canon A2E, and while it's pretty much the same camera, there are differences.

The EOS5 has a date back (allowing imprints of the current date & time on the shot for future reference). The A2E contains no such back and Canon do not offer one as an add-on or separate purchase.

There are slight differences between the way the two display data to the user.

My dad has the EOS5 and likes it, but he's moving up to a digital as soon as he can. Traitor, he's been lusting after Nikon for the past 20 years, then when his Olympus finally dies, he goes Canon.

Long live the dark side! ;)

Digital is the thing these days. I also like the Canon EOS5, It is the Auto focusing that is really handy at times.
