i came across a really unusual problem with one of the images on my site (.png). when the image is viewed in mozzilla firefox it looks perfectly normal the way i want it but when the image is viewed in MSIE 6 it looks sleightly darked and doesn't blend with the rest of the site. i'm pretty sure this isn't just a cookies problem because i've deleted them multiple times. i got a shot of the image in the two browsers

Mozzilla- http://gtagangster-rap.gtaspot.com/cont ... zzilla.bmp

MSIE 6- http://gtagangster-rap.gtaspot.com/cont ... /msie6.bmp

is it somthing to do with it being a png image?

i'd tried it in various other formats and none them seemed to match. they were all slightly off color so i gave png a go. i've decided to scrap the image now though because i can't get it to blend with the other image. :(

Did you have any transperancy in the .pngs?

Emersed - png's can sometimes have smaller file size and/or much better quality.

nope no transperancey. i'm actualy now thinking that it has somthing to do with "web safe" colors. correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't photoshop put a little exclaimation mark next to some colors saying there not "web safe"?
Maybe the color i'm using isn't supported. i've also noticed that some of my jpg images are a slightly darker color in MSIE and lighter in firefox
