my parents just got back from Disney World and brought my daughter a
Buzz Lightyear toy that has some really cool lights on it. (buzz is from
Toy Story, in case you didn't know ;)) no flash for any of these pics, on a
slow apature of like 1/40.

here's my fav 3 in a series -

and here's some of the others I took. the grainy look is because it was
dark outside and used no flash for any of these pics.

Those three in a row look really great. I really like that middle one with alot of light movement in it.

Those are pretty cool pictures. Interesting idea to take those with a low shutter speed.

You said aperture, but I think you mean shutter speed. The aperture would usually range from something like F1.8 to F16 for example. Aperture is the lens opening. It is given in F-Stop and the smaller the number, the larger the lens opening (aperture). The larger the lens opening (aperture), the more light reaches the image sensor.

You can learn more here: http://www.photoxels.com/tutorial_aperture.html

Sorry to go off on a tangent

don't forget the smaller the arpeture, the lower the field of view, the lower the field of view the less thats in focus... ;) ;)

I like those pictures, very good turn out considering you didn't use a flash, but I would imaginge shutter speed had to be alot slower then 1/40th considering that you have some lengthy blurs. If not buzz must move awefully fast :-P
