Hey I was on photoshop in the middle of the night last night and i made this after reading a tutorial:

I'll be blunt. It is nice, but nothing special. So if it is your first try, good job, if you have been using photoshop for a few months now, it is time to move on to better things.

ahh good job then.

try colorizing the noise (if it is in a different layer, just goto image>adjust>hue/saturation and check colorize). Then you can make it the same gold, and it will look much better.

hrmmm...how about blurring out the static and then putting a transparent glass layer above it, giving it more of a diamondish look. Right now it isn't reading as a diamond...but the gold is.

I know how. But telling you defeats the purpose of learning. You should go back to photoshop and think to yourself what combination of filters will give me a glossy, transparent effect? and bam, your learning without any direction but the notion that you want to make a crystal like image.

i think it's pretty good actually. The gold looks like gold, and I didn't
even need to read what you meant it to be to understand it was
diamonds. The edges are pretty crisp and the quality of the blending
and gradients are good.

The negative of it, is it reminds me of the old days of bad animated gifs.
And looking at it, I kept waiting for it to do some wacky, poor animation. :P

Nice work, especially if it's your first pshop attempt. Keep working! :)
