Can anyone tell me if there is a way in CS4 with a mac to have the program show a solid background in the workspace?

I'm finding it REALLY annoying to try and work in Photoshop/Illustrator etc with other programs and windows showing in the non existent background working space of most of the CS4 programs...

I've tried searching for a solution but all the results are coming back relating to background pictures etc.

Do you get what I mean?
Here is a screen shot...

the circle is the ONLY thing open in photoshop while in the program
1. is a finder window showing through the PS program
2. is Eclipse (a program) showing through the PS program

HELP PLEASE!!

PS: advice along the lines of 'just make the image window full screen' not needed... want to see multiple files open in photoshop and NOTHING else in the background behind it :D

I don't believe its possible to do that on the mac. Its been that way back as as far as at least photoshop 6 on the mac. The funny thing is I actually like that feature and wish my vista machine didn't seem to need an application background.

GB do you know how to delete something in CS4 photoshop without having to go up to Edit > Clear

?

It doesnt allow me to make it a shortcut and for some reason the delete button doesnt delete when I select something..
