This is a white tiger cub that was on display at the reptile show in Tampa today. This is one of three that was there today, amongst other animals, and they're looked after by Vanishing Species.

I've promised to send them the photos I took today, so hopefully one day I'll be able to actually visit their facility and get some good photos of the adults.

I've always thought my cat looked like white tiger, and based on your pic
here I think I have the proof now!

Apparently, and I only found this out about 3 or 4 months ago, the white tigers are exactly the same species as the regular tigers. What makes them white is a simple recessive trait, that removes all the yellow/gold pigment from their fur (like albino mice, or piebald ball pythons).

Perhaps your cat is showing a similar recessive trait unflux :)

my cat rules! He's so awesome, and I am truly a dog lover so
that's saying something.

anyway, it must have been really cool being that close to them.
Did you get to mingle with them? or were they restricted from
access?

No, they were cut off, but like I said, I'm hoping this, and the other photos I took (don't worry, they'll be online soon, lol) will be enough to convince them to invite me over for the day to interact with them some and get some good photos.

ThATKiD' - maybe you want to start using punctuation and
ending your sentences to make complete ones so we can all
understand what you are saying it is really annoying to figure
out what your sentences are and then make sense of them
so i will write this way for you to see how dumb and annoying
it is thanks i really appreciate you help in this situation and
your immediate attention would greatly appreciated also do
you know what a period is cuz I can show a few here you go

Thatkid: Yeah, it was tough... I left my SB-50DX in the car, otherwise I could've had the whole dual-flash thingy going on... With the lighting in the room, and no tripod it was difficult to get the lighting just right (impossible to use the in-house lighting to my advantage). The flash I used was the D100's built-in speedlight, which won't pan or tilt unfortunately.

Damn in that case, you did very well with what you had. I am looking foward to seeing more pictures, hopefully they let you interact with the animals.

A perfect example of how lack of punctuation gets the wrong message across... Unflux wasn't angry, but his post read as one long continuous sentence looked like he was ;)
