I was wondering what this type of graphic setup is called. Basically the ground is almost a set of diamonds, which are stretched or squashed for landscape features.

It is used in the games Age of Empires, Starcraft, The Sims(some of them), Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Habbo Hotel, and Coke Music.

Does anyone know? I have been searching using the name 'diamond tile' for a while with no luck and have no idea how I can find out anythign more about it if I don't know what it's called.

What I am looking for is not a texture. I am simply asking what the term for this style of game graphics is.

Does anyone know? Is there even a term for it?

If you could post a link for those of us unfamiliar with the games you mentioned, so we'd have a visual reference, that might help. Off the top of my head, the only diamond pattern of which I know is called argyle. Like the socks.

Good luck!

Woah talk about big words.

But yes it did turn up good results, but mostly there was all sorts of documentaries on what it was.

Can anyone find a good site for free game graphics of this type?
