For those of you using digital cameras...

What storage medium and what sorts of capacity do you use? Do you find that the capacities you're using right now run out before you do? Or do you still have plenty of space left on them when you've finished shooting and go home?

Right now, I've got 256Meg total CompactFlash storage space, and even shooting in Low-Res (1502x1000 resolution), I'm running out way before the end of the day. I've got a new 512Meg Lexar CompactFlash card in the mail racing towards me as we speak, which will help out a lil. Eventually I'm looking to either get a 4Gig MicroDrive, or a portable mass storage device (like a DigiBin2 or FlashTrax) - or both, heh.

Yup, I was thinking about getting one of those Muvo2 playersn($200). They've got a Hitachi 4Gig Microdrive inside them that's identical to the Hitachi 4Gig Microdrives you pay $500 for in the local camera store.

I'm definatly sticking with 128 meg smartMedia cards till I get a nice camera.

I never seem to run out even a week in mexico and I still had about 40 pictures left, but I delete all the ones that don't turn out well...

Oh yeah, it's definitely possible... many have done it...

One guy I know bought 22 Muvo2 players from Amazon - they've since put a limit of maximum 3 Muvo2 mp3 players per customer.

They sold out within just a few days of the player being released because they can be ripped out.

Most of the people I know go through one of two processes...

1. Buy Muvo2 for $200
2. Take out the drive
3. Sell Muvi2 without any storage capability on eBay for $50

or

1. Buy Muvo2 for $200
2. Take out the drive
3. Replace the drive with a 128Meg CompactFlash and use it as an mp3 player :)

Btw, if you look at the Useful Photography Links thread, there's a link there to a page about MicroDrives on Steve's Digicams that details the whole process.
