Very good. 3D is something I've toyed with in the past but never modelled anything which isn't made up of primitives.

What software did you use? It reminds me of the airborne cameras in Half-Life 2.

I really like that Nucleo. Very impressive indeed.

Quite interested to see what software you used there as well.

Thanks guys, cinema 4d is my weapon of choice ;)

The scouts in HL2 were definately an inspiration. I had an idea of some kind of scout scurrying around the page, and that was born from the idea

Alot of it is very deformed primitives, get the primitive, make it editable poly's, remove 1/2 of the poly's to set up symetry, and go crazy lol

some bits where custom poly, I like C4D because it has super nice poly tools

Something about the pose reminds of me of Luxo... on a bad acid trip (in other words, love it). Very cool work, can't wait to see it textured.

I just had someone tell me that it would look better with arms and legs 0.o

what do you think?

ditch the whole wheel concept?

also, i have been working on textures, i have some nailed, i could post them if you like, heck i could turn this into some kind of project log if you like

My thoughts:

Replace wheel with some crawly type legs and develop pointy things coming out of body a little (but I think arms might be too much).

Would be interested to see what you do with it.

I don't know, I think its wicked, but if you replace the wheel with arms and legs its gunna be too reminiscent of a creature that i've already seen somewhere, can't think of where though! lol, Maybe that robotic creature form war of the worlds? I really like it, but arms and legs have already been done.

I think it looks just fine as it is - as far as the structure goes. Can't wait to see it skinned. You modeled this in what?

He did it in Cinema 4D.

I think it looks good as it as as well, but find it hard to imagine the thing actually working on one thin wheel.

Maybe you could try a spherical wheel?

Oh Impel, I can't believe you said that. This is the world of art where the laws of physics don't apply.

I think it's structurely perfect as is. Can't wait to see him/her/it in color.

That thing's pretty neat !

Render one with the wheel, then try other mobility options later on. :D
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

i had the idea of it swaying back and forth, as if it were on a trycicle.

a could of things have rushed thru my head out this, add arms/legs.... turn it into a snake type creature, by adding more abdomen links.

atm, got a nice red/white shiny texture. Need to make a plastic duller white, as a hard body shell.

I could make 3/4 different version of the model, and use them in the animation. at the moment, i just need to get some base textures down ;)

textures are going to be simple, but lighting is everything, or the relfections look well off... my 3 point lighting setup isn't amazing atm lol, and render times are getting higher
