Hi all,

I have seen this image in a magazine so I thought I would scan it in to show you.

I have seen this effect used on the web in a number of places. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how it was done. Does it start from an original photograph and convert it to a vector?

I know there is an effect in flash called Trace Bitmap but i dont know if this used to create this effect.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated

(cant attach images to this forum so I will send you the link...)

or use flash to trace bitmap. basically the effect you're looking
for is called vector art. so that alone may help you finding what
you need, possibly at a stock photo/art site.

From what i've seen, its mostly taking the pen tool in photoshop and taking your time to pretty much "copy" over a photo. You could probably do it any of the art-programs that you have, don't think you have to run out and buy a certain one to get that effect. I'm in a class right now...but when I get home I'll look through my links. I think I have a tutorial that shows you how to do it.
