So I got myself a Nikon D70. Let me tell you, this thing rocks!

Here's a few shots of an anole. Let the whole thing load, it's about 390k.

That original post with, what is that, a gecko? I'm curious how you did the little animation thing.

ROFL @ Axe:
In all fairness (not that Axe isn't fair about HIS point of view :) ) I did consider the Pentax *ist-D. Everything I'd seen told me it was a fine camera.

Nope, it's an anole. We get them everywhere in SC. With this camera I can shoot 3 frames per second / up to 144 consecutive shots. This little guy was amazingly cooperative.

Naah ya don't. They're the reptile world equivalent of a goldfish. They're not the kind of reptile you can handle, they're just sit-n-watch kinda guys, and despite what most care sheets say, they can not live in a 6" cube, heh. In the wild, males usually have a territory of at least 1,000 cubic feet (10'x10'x10'), and females will roam much further.

The animals themselves are super cheap in pet stores. You can get them for $3-5. But, their care is just as expensive as the $100 bearded dragon in the next cage (another one you should never buy from a pet store - always go direct to a breeder). Also, most pet store anoles are wild caught, which means they're REALLY not used to being in confined enclosures, and are probably loaded with parasites (and just the stress alone just from having to deal with vets handling and then treatment with meds can kill anoles).

Definitely not a pet kinda pet, but they are cute :)

If you change your mind, and decide you want an anole, come to SC, you can gather buckets of em for free.
