i would love to have a few of them in a nice frame in my room..

Lol sorry I hadda start this one off with a quote because it fit so nicely. Now that is very cool, it has a great contrast between darks and lights, and keeps the interest flowing.

Everyone - let's cut out the little jabs and personal attacks. It's really
not doing anything but making longer posts and taking up bandwidth.

Fusion - you completely missed what I was trying to say. now i have to
write my explanation and i'm dreading it.

Obviously you thought it was very good, and wanted your ego stroked a
bit. If your work is good, and I have told you when I thought i was,
then I would say so. In this particular case, it isn't IMO.

I wasn't trying to start any arguments or tantrums, I was speaking the
truth of my opinion. What was said earlier is true. You put your work on
a public forum for opinion. I'm a professional designer, and I gave you
my opinion. Instead of taking what I said as criticism, you took it as a
personal attack and a bunch of flaming went down. That was clearly not
my intention.

Now let me explain why I said that it was unoriginal...
I have seen and also created those blobs countless times. There isn't
anything orginal, claimed to be art or not, about following a tutorial.
There are tons of free tutorials that teach you exactly how to make what
you made.

b_heyer has a right to his own opinion, just like you and Jordo do. If he
thinks I'm the best, then so be it. I don't really care in the grand
scheme of things. I'm working on client sites, and getting paid to do so,
and their opinion of me and my work is what matters most to me. While
I appreciate the support, I don't relish in it for a second. I know there's
tons of better designers out there, and all I can do is try to achieve that
level of success.

I do the artwork for fun, not for critique. If someone didn't like it, I'd
want to know that, and then to know why. I would then use that as
motivation to do my next one better, not sit back argue my points as to
why I think it is really good.

Defending my own work and my own site is old-hat, and bores me. I
don't think and never have thought, that my site looks or resembles
anything about 2a, other than I made it in flash and so did they. Yes, I
will admit that I was influenced by their work. But any designer would
tell you that the similarities are very minimal.

After all, I emailed the 2a crew for their opinion on my site, asking for
them to tell me whether or not it was too close to theirs. Shane told me
flat out that it didn't remind them of 2a one bit. That's good enough for
me, and i pass that along to anyone who questions it.

Personally, I hate my site now. It's been up for 1.5yrs and I CANNOT
WAIT to change it. I have so many new things I want to do, and
different styles as well. I despise looking at my site any more TBH.

Yes, I am a moderator, but regardless of that, I would always post my
true opinion of something. What good is it for you to hear "looks good"
or "wow, great!" every time you posted a work? i'll tell you = NONE

You will never get better, or expand your horizons when you become
complacent and satisfied with your skills and style.

I'm sorry you took my post and opinion personally. I'm not trying to
make enemies or cause any trouble. I want everyone here to work to
getting better and becoming better webmasters or whatever it is they do.

Being honest is the first step.
