I was just wondering what film the photographers out there prefer to use for different situations?

i was really hoping the photographers would have something to say in this matter as there are many different films out there and i would imagine that everyone prefers certain ones for certain siutations be it sports/action, portraits, landscapes, etc.

When I shot on film I prefered Ilford 100 and Ilford 50 B&W. I processed the negatives myself and was using Ilford chems as well. Both these films were fine for full sun light. I was doing snap shots and still lifes though. I don't have any experience with sporting events.

Yeah, my dad shoots a lot of Ilford film too...

Mostly I've gone with Fuji or Kodak, although no real preference which Fuji or Kodak. I only shot off about 20 rolls before switching to a digital SLR (film was just getting too expensive).

Since then, no film, I just have to alter my white balance & upload a custom curve here and there (although I do use a Fuji Velvia simulation curve quit a bit recently) :)

I prefer and still shoot Fuji 100E-6. Although I am also a fan of Agfa and ilford. Kodak only in an emergency. BTW I rarely shoot c-41 99% I shoot E-6.
