I've got the D100 too DR01D, it's a nice camera, I love it 
The price for a new D70, or a used D100 is VERY close these days.
Most of the used D100's out there have been used by professionals or high end amateurs (who's gonna spend $1500+ on a camera for family snaps and trips to the park with the kids?), so they've usually been well cared for, and are as good as buying new (although without the warranty), so it might be worth looking into a used D100 as well (going rate on a used D100 is about $1000-1150 at the moment).

yeah they rock i will be getting one when i can.
funny you mention that because thats all he seems to do with his camera, i think that camera prefers me using it
he also has a 1 gig card with it so you can shoot all day
that camera with some good filters and lenses would be the best.
